Casting Foundry Manager - Steel and Metals IndustryOur client in the Steel and Metals Industry is seeking an experienced Casting Foundry Manager to lead and optimise operations within its Billet Casting Division. This role offers the opportunity to oversee one of the largest and most advanced casting operations in the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving production excellence, cost efficiency, and safety compliance while ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality billets within a dynamic, high-performance environment. Key Responsibilities:Manage all billet casting operations to ensure the consistent production of high-quality output aligned with customer and organisational requirements.Oversee manpower, materials, and equipment resources to achieve production targets and maintain optimal efficiency.Develop, implement, and monitor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process standards that promote precision, safety, and compliance.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process reliability, reduce downtime, and improve overall plant performance.Analyse key operational metrics, budgets, and performance indicators, taking corrective action where required.Champion a strong culture of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance across all production activities.Partner with HR to ensure effective people management, training, performance reviews, and succession planning.Maintain compliance with all relevant operational and legislative requirements governing metallurgical production.Experience:Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Billet Casting within a steel manufacturing or melt shop environment (essential).Experience in Slab Casting will be advantageous.Proven track record in managing large-scale production operations with a focus on quality, efficiency, and safety.Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.Educational Requirements:Degree or National Diploma in Metallurgical or Engineering discipline (strongly preferred).Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science (essential).If you are a results-driven leader with a passion for precision casting, innovation, and team development and you’re ready to take your career to the next level within a major player in the Steel and Metals Industry - we encourage you to apply.Mindcor will respond to shortlisted candidates only.
