Assist the MD in developing and implementing the Bank's strategic plan that aligns with overall business goals. Lead and manage turnaround initiatives from the MDs Officer in partnership with Group Strategy and Transformation. Oversee overall performance and monitors progress towards corporate goals, and competitiveness of the Bank.
Assist the MD in overseeing the Bank's daily operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with regulations. Manage key external relationships; communicate & engage with stakeholders, and represent the bank in high-level platformsFacilitate cross functional collaboration within the Bank and other group entities for alignment towards strategic initiatives. Oversee the preparation and management of the Bank's annual budget. Provide financial insights, market research and analysis, evaluate industry trends, identify growth opportunities and recommend to the MD to support strategic decision-making. Monitor & evaluate the impact of business transformation projects & recommend improvement opportunities.
Monitor and manage enterprise-wide risks, including financial, operational, and compliance risks & ensure the bank operates in line with good corporate governance practices. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability standards. Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive growth. Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders. Lead and manage special projects and strategic initiatives in collaboration with the MD. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal policies and remain updated on any changes in banking regulations. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
Work with the MD to develop and implement succession planning strategies to ensure leadership continuity. Produce monthly, and periodic reports for the MD, including board reports. Undertake any other duties, tasks, assignments and projects as may be assigned by MD from time to time. Qualifications, Skills, and Experience required. Undergraduate/Honours degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent. Master’s degree in business administration or business leadership is an added advantage. Desirable to be a Chartered Accountant (CA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Risk Specialist (CRS).
At least 10 years of work experience in the Banking and Financial Services Sector. 5+ years of experience at Senior Management and Executive levels. Critical Skills RequiredIn-depth knowledge of banking industry regulations, standards, and best practices. Proficiency in analysing financial statements, budgets, and forecasts. Expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial and operational risks. Ability to develop and implement long-term business strategies. Experience in managing investment portfolios and making informed investment decisions. Knowledge of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) policies and practices. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders. Strong decision-making skills, especially under pressure.
Proficiency in negotiating contracts, deals, and partnerships. Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and business environments.
