Execute recruitment strategies and initiatives in line with the Group Recruitment Policy. Draft standard operating procedures and service level agreements for review by management. Serve as a strategic advisor to functional leaders, providing expert guidance on human capital matters. Act as a control point for the maintenance of high standards in candidate selection decisions.
Lead the selection and employment screening processes to fill vacant roles. Recruit and place staff per appropriate levels in line with company policies and procedures. Develop job descriptions and obtain sign off, for any new or changed roles. Train Line Managers in the use of recruitment selection tools. Provide coaching to line managers on the process of performance management. Enhance skills and competencies specific to business needs. Facilitate staff movements in consultation with Line Management ensuring smooth flow of work processes. Maintain pools of potential job candidates through internal as well as external recruitment agencies.
Implement smooth on-boarding for new employees in liaison with the Talent Management Department. Manage the employee termination process by conducting exit interviews to establish reasons for turnover and make recommendations. Research and disseminate government labour statistics, new employment regulations, and labour laws. Guide Line Management in making sound decisions, implementing effective managerial controls, and adopting cost-effective procedures in their daily human resource management. Partner with Talent Development to train Line Managers in the use of the Performance Management tools. Facilitate the performance management cycle, including contracting and reviews, and recommend system improvements.
Collaborate with the Talent Management team to deliver talent identification and development initiatives. Offer guidance to Line Management and staff on Industrial Relations matters, promptly addressing IR challenges, queries, and ensuring compliance with labour laws. Advise and assist Line Management on handling disciplinary matters, including reviewing charges and establishing authorities and committees, per the relevant Codes of Conduct. Prepare submissions on labour case appeals before the NEC and case handover notes to CBZ Group legal department.
Co-ordinate all processes related to the employee representative bodies including Works Council agenda items, facilitation of Works Council meetings, formation of Workers’ Committee structures. Recommend improvements to Human Capital systems, policies, and procedures. Undertake effective Human Capital intelligence to pro-actively manage ground-level of issues. Set targets, monitor and review team performance. Take on any other duties, tasks, assignments, and projects delegated from time to time. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Possess a degree in Human Capital, Organisational Psychology or related Management from a recognized and reputable tertiary institution.
A master’s degree in Business Administration, Business Leadership or Strategic Management is an advantage. At least 5 years’ work experience in a similar role in a fast-paced organisation or a financial services firm. Diploma in People Management from a recognised professional institute. Thorough knowledge of national labour legislation and policy. Experience in managing talent acquisition, development, and retention. Highly skilled in tracking employee performance, setting goals, and conducting appraisals. Skilled in measuring HR performance, tracking key metrics, and generating reports. Ability to develop and execute human capital strategies using tools like Strategic HR Planning Templates and Balanced Scorecard.
Able to lead and manage a high-performing team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to listen actively with empathetic understanding. Experience in facilitating activities that foster team spirit and collaboration. Able to establish and maintain trust with employees and stakeholders.
