Job Description

Monitor IT systems and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability. Perform regular system checks, updates, and maintenance. Implement and maintain monitoring tools to provide real-time visibility into system health. Identify and resolve system performance issues and bottlenecks. Provide technical support to end-users and IT staff for system-related issues.

Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems. Escalate complex technical issues to the IT Operations Manager or external vendors, as necessary. Document and track system maintenance activities and resolutions. Document and maintain a knowledge base of common issues and resolutions. Assist in the development and implementation of technology service management processes. Support the IT Operations Manager in managing service requests and incidents. Assist in the coordination and execution of service continuity and disaster recovery plans. Implement security measures to protect IT infrastructure and data. Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans on IT systems.

Collaborate with the information security team to address security threats and incidents. Ensure systems comply with security policies and regulatory requirements. Maintain documentation and records for compliance audits and reviews. Monitor and report on service levels to ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLA’s). Identify opportunities for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of IT operations. Implement best practices for system monitoring, maintenance, and support. Assist in the deployment and configuration of new systems and software. Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in IT operations and infrastructure.

Explore and recommend new tools and technologies to improve IT operations support. Participate in service improvement initiatives to enhance IT operations. Take on any other duties, tasks, and projects delegated by management from time to time. Qualifications, Skills, and Experience required. Possess an Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized and reputable tertiary institution. At least 3 years in IT operations support, with first hand experience in managing and maintaining IT infrastructure. Possession of certification(s): CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network +,ITIL® Foundation, Microsoft Certified : Azure Fundamentals, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).

Proficiency in IT service management frameworks (e. g. , ITIL). Experience with cloud computing platforms (Azure, AWS). Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere, Citrix). Strong understanding of enterprise architecture and IT infrastructure. Skills in systems monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. Experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery planning. Proficiency in managing software licenses and updates. Familiarity with network infrastructure and security protocols. Ability to perform regular system health checks and patch management. Knowledge of data protection operations and relevant legislation (e. g. , GDPR). Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
