Delivering our strategy sustainably in is fundamental to achieving our ambition to be a net zero company by 2050 or sooner.About The RoleThe Counterparty Due Diligence (CDD) senior analyst is responsible for accurate, timely and effective on-boarding of new counterparties, and periodic CDD review of already existing counterparties of bp’s supply, trading and shipping (ST&S) organization. The CDD senior analyst is responsible for the operation of robust control processes over quality of CDD records as well as AML/ABC/CTF/sanctions risk associated with counterparties. The CDD senior analyst works closely with regional CDD teams, the commercial organization, Ethics and Compliance, legal teams and other functions within FBT (e.g. reference data and settlements).This role will also ensure that the on-boarding and periodic review process meets UK and International AML/KYC regulatory standards and bp and ST&S policies.Consistent with finance strategy, this role should support initiatives driving efficiencies through automation and process improvements and capability development of the team.Key AccountabilitiesEnsure effective compliance with the ST&S AML Standards through the review of existing and new counterparties:Research, process and assess external / internal information available.Conduct negative media and other adverse information screening on counterparties.Construct, assess and clearly present risk profile of counterparties.Raise all concerns and red flags to senior CDD levels as appropriate.Manage a large portfolio of in-flight reviews with competing priority.Maintain and improve effective interaction and communication with key partners in other units / business areas of ST&S as well as counterparties directly.Influence and initiate improvements to current CDD processes to increase control and efficiency.RequirementsRelevant finance or legal degree and minimum of 3 years of experience in control, compliance, or finance areaEnglish C1Spanish or Portuguese language knowledge is a plusKnowledge of KYC/AML control functions, and CDD experience ideally within a financial services or commodities trading business is preferred.Solid understanding of underlying financial crime/corruption/sanctions risks.Ability to manage own workload and deal with competing priorities.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work and deliver as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Why join our Team?We support our people to learn and grow in a diverse and ambitious environment.
