OrganizationMercator Marine Group (MMG) is a leading European distributor of technical marine parts and accessories for recreational boats in Europe. The Group consists of four operating companies — Allpa, Combi Noord, Technautic, and Allpa - Technik fürs Boot — collectively offering over 65,000 products across the Netherlands, Germany, and broader Western Europe.Founded through the acquisition of Allpa by Bencis Capital Partners in 2021, Mercator Marine Group has rapidly expanded through the subsequent acquisitions of Combi Noord (2022), Technautic, and Technik fürs Boot (2023). The introduction of the group name in 2023 marked a new phase: building a strong, integrated European platform in a highly fragmented market.MMG’s ambition is to expand its leading position in technical parts and accessories for the aftermarket and boatbuilders’ market and to build a sizeable platform in Western Europe. To achieve this, the company will build on its core strengths (strong brands, broad assortment, <24hrs delivery, technical advice, easy ordering, and quality service).The job profileTo enable further expansion of the Group and to further enhance operations and cooperation within the Group, a professional, tightly managed (financial) organization is required. We are looking for a CFO that is a true hands-on business partner in a dynamic organization that is continuously evolving.As CFO, you will hold a broad, business-oriented finance leadership role with responsibility for Finance, IT, ESG, and M&A. Operating from the holding company, you will work closely with the management teams of all operating entities to drive financial performance and integration. Particular attention will be given to strengthening both operational and financial control within Allpa and Technautic, ensuring a solid foundation for the Group’s continued growth.You are responsible for the policy and execution of finance in the broader sense. i.e. financial and business control, optimizing ERP and WMS systems, IT, M&A (both due diligence as well as integration of acquisitions), risk management, ESG, financing, contact with external parties (debt fund, banks, accountant), taxation, insurance and legal. You are the financial conscience of the company and the sparring partner for the CEO and the rest of management, the supervisory board and the business.The ideal candidateAs the CFO you are the driving force behind performance and change — you are an inspiring and hands-on leader who builds a professional and scalable finance organization. By introducing structure, transparency, and actionable insights, you ensure that management and shareholders have a clear view of performance and value creation.A true business partner, you combine strategic oversight with operational grip. Intelligent and analytically sharp, you work fact-based, challenge assumptions, and drive continuous improvement. You connect teams and stakeholders across the Group, translating financial insight into business action.With a proven track record in transformation, you know how to turn decentralized operations into a cohesive, performance-driven organization. Pragmatic yet visionary, decisive yet empathetic — you build trust, drive alignment, and ensure the company delivers on its ambitious growth agenda.Main selection criteria:Academic educational background, preferably supplemented with a postgraduate RA (Registered Accountant) or RC (Registered Controller) qualification.At least 5 years of proven and successful leadership experience in a broad financial role, preferably in a technical (wholesale) and/or B2B e-commerce platform.Experience in a private equity setting and with debt financing.Experience in building the internal finance organization and implementing financial control and reporting processes in a fast-growing organization.Experience with and affinity for finance-related tools and their implementation, including systems for consolidation, reporting, and BI (Business Intelligence).Experience with M&A and PMI.
