Role OverviewThey are seeking a Senior Portfolio Manager with a strong quantitative background and leadership experience to support the firm’s gas trading operations. This individual will play a key role in managing risk, optimizing positions, and ensuring a structured, data-driven approach to trading.
While the focus is on gas markets, experience in other commodities could be beneficial as the firm explores future expansion. Key ResponsibilitiesManage and optimize the firm’s gas portfolio, ensuring alignment with trading strategies and risk parameters. Develop and apply quantitative models to support trading decisions, risk management, and market analysis. Take on structured risk with a disciplined and analytical approach. Provide leadership and mentorship within the portfolio management and trading team. Work closely with traders, analysts, and senior management to enhance strategy and execution. Stay informed on market trends, regulatory changes, and new opportunities in European gas trading.
Requirements3+ years of experience in portfolio management, risk management, or trading, with a focus on gas markets. Advanced quantitative education (MSc or PhD in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field). Experience in statistical modelling, risk management, and structured trading strategies. Strong analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven trading decisions. Excellent leadership skills with experience managing teams or mentoring junior colleagues.
