COVENANT COLLEGEChapel Department Executive AssistantTitle: Chapel Department Executive AssistantFLSA Classification: Non-Exempt, 10-monthReports to: ChaplainSummaryThe Chapel Department Executive Assistant performs administrative duties in support of the Chaplain and the Chapel department. Responsible for managing the Chaplain's calendar and email, assisting in communication on his behalf, and drafting appropriate documents. Additionally, responsible for carrying out the work of the chapel department through organizing and managing MWF chapel services, the schedule of speakers for chapel, student attendance, student workers, and events.DUTIESServe as a host to visitors in the office of the Chapel department.Manage the Chaplain's calendar, appointments, and emailAssist the Chaplain by drafting appropriate documents and emailsManage all internal and external Chapel calendars and live streams.Manage mail, email, and telephone communications for the Chapel department.Oversee chapel logistics (including speaker, building, attendance, and communication details).Plan and execute all details and logistics for the Chapel department events and conferences. Acts as a point person for other departments with all lecture series that take place in the chapel.Maintain all pertinent files and documents.Manage student workers employed by the Chapel departmentStrategic development and planning for the departmentTrack, manage, and report budgetary items and expenditures related to dedicated departmental funds, obligations, and payments.Acts as a change agent and promotes innovation and continuous improvement throughout the departmentPHYSICAL DEMANDSSitting: Sitting for the majority of the day, but free to stand and walk at will. Lifting: Lifting or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling), less than 5 lbs.POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORKThis is a full-time 10-month position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.RequirementsAn acceptance of and commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and LordAn understanding of and commitment to Scripture and the mission and purpose of Covenant CollegeActive membership and participation in a Christ-honoring local churchBachelor's degree Three years of related experience Ability to work cooperatively with the chaplain, other administrators, employees, and young adults of various backgroundsExperience in event coordination and administration Excellent written and oral communication skills Working knowledge of email, calendar, spreadsheet, word processing applications (e.g., Google Apps, Microsoft Office), and Canva.
