Foundation for Change (FfC) are seeking an accountant with experience working with charities to support for around 2-3 days per month with book-keeping, fund accounting and preparing year end financial statements.What difference will you make?We are a small, independent charity. As such, we are under-resourced with the CEO spending a significant amount of time on duties that take him away from fundraising and general leading of the organisation. An accountant that can support with monthly processes and support the creation of year end accounts would be a significant help to free his time. Being able to rely on someone to create financial reports easily that can be taken to the board, as well as support with the administration of funds would ease a lot of the pressure he is currently under due to attempting to do this himself.What are we looking for?Appropriately certified Experience in charity accounting, book keeping, fund accounting and financial administrationExperience of using Liberty accounts or willing to learn Reliable and trustworthyWhat will you be doing?We are seeking an individual knowledgeable in charity accounting who can support with monthly financial administration and creating year end accruals accounts. We use Liberty Accounts as our software so someone proficient in this or who is willing to learn it is preferable. We are specifically seeking someone with charity experience preparing financial statements at the end of the year for independent examination, and for this experience to be related to accruals accounting. We are unable to respond to applicants without this specific experience.Responsibilities Of The VolunteerThe Volunteer will assist with the following tasksMaintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.Recording income and expenditure in line with charity finance regulations.Reconciling bank statements and financial transactions, including petty cash.Assisting with the preparation of financial reports for trustees and stakeholders.Assisting with the preparation of year end accounts for independent examination (accruals accounting)Ensuring compliance with relevant financial policies and procedures.Assisting with Gift Aid claims where applicable.Liaising with the Treasurer and other relevant members of the nonprofit regarding financial matters where necessary.
