* The High School Equivalency English Language Arts Instructor will prepare a diverse body of students to earn a High School credential and/or develop the literacy and numeracy skills needed to qualify for further education, job training, or better employment. Currently this position is in a traditional face to face classroom, but candidates must be willing to pivot to online learning should the need arise.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Teach English Language Arts skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) to a diverse population of adults Integrate civics education, science, social studies and digital literacy into the English Language Arts lessons Prepare and develop lessons aligned with the College and Career Readiness Standards for Adults. Attend trainings for EBRI (Evidence Based Reading Instruction) and implement this instruction accordingly Become familiar with and adhere to all Dept.
of Education expectations for grant funded Adult Basic Education programs Use available technology, differentiated instruction, and formative assessments to enhance lessons Create a classroom culture that is motivating, inviting, safe and supports students in their academic and social-emotional growth Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve personal practice, classroom instruction, assessment and student success; as well as to achieve the overall goals and mission of the program Attend and participate in staff and program development meetings Participate in required ACLS (Adult and Community Learning Services) trainings and conferences that support Professional Development Communicate regularly with the program coordinator and director regarding student issues, and other problems or concerns Adhere to all protocols and norms for communication, e.
g. checking Email, phone, etc. on a regular basis Maintain accurate records, e. g. attendance, timesheets, lesson plans, etc. Remain current with essential program related information, e. g. HiSET, GED, Links, MCC resources, etc. Interact appropriately and professionally with staff, students, visitors, and all members of the college and the community Fulfill all outlined and related functions in a professional, timely, and thorough manner Perform other related duties as needed and requestedRequirements Bachelor's degree Previous teaching experience Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Zoom, etc.

30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings; September through early June. Tuesday and Thursday classes will be in person on the Bedford campus and Wednesday classes will be online via zoom.
