Your jobThe laboratory of the Animal Nutrition chair group (ANU) is looking for a:Chemical Analyst (full-time, 38 hours/week)Please note, good communication skills in both Dutch and English are mandatory for this position.The Animal Nutrition chair group is part of the Department of Animal Sciences at Wageningen University & Research. The group provides education and conducts research in the field of animal nutrition, with the aim of improving animal production, health, and welfare in a sustainable way, thereby enhancing quality of life. The chair group has a chemical laboratory for analyzing sample material obtained from research.What You Will DoThe Animal Nutrition chair group is looking for a chemical analyst responsible for sample preparation (homogenizing, drying, and grinding) and maintaining the associated equipment. In addition, you will perform chemical analyses and play a central role in supporting BSc, MSc, and PhD students with sample preparation as part of their thesis and research work.Working with and improving the laboratory information management system (LIMS) is also part of your responsibilitiesYour qualitiesYou are an enthusiastic and flexible team player who enjoys working collaboratively. You work accurately and according to established protocols. You are open to new techniques and methods, eager to learn, and motivated to further develop yourself. You can switch quickly between different tasks and have an affinity for equipment maintenance. Preferably, you have experience with sample preparation techniques such as freeze-drying and determining physical properties, and you are open to guiding students in sample preparation.You Also HaveA completed Higher Laboratory Education (HLO) or Intermediate Laboratory Education (MLO) degree with proven experience;Good communication skills in both Dutch and English;Affinity with IT systems used in laboratories;A proactive mindset and willingness to contribute to continuous process improvement.We offer youWageningen University & Research offers excellent terms of employment. As for your contract, we initially offer a one-year contract that can be extended - if possible within (company) organizational circumstances - on good performance.
