Job TitleResearcher in Host/Pathogen Interaction: Therapeutic Strategy Against Antibiotic ResistancePossibility to apply for a permanent position EnvironmentYou will work as a researcher in the Micalis unit, composed of 22 teams, whose objective is to develop innovative research in the field of Food Microbiology for Health. The position is located within the PIMs (Pathogens, Immunity and Microbiota) team, which specializes in the study of bacterial resistance to the host immune system and develops innovative antivirulence strategies.https://www.micalis.fr/fr/equipe/pims-2/ Mission and activityThe global spread of antibiotic resistance requires the identification of new bacterial drug targets as well as the design and synthesis of innovative anti-infectives. Your research will be part of the fight against antibiotic resistance, which constitutes a major global public health problem. In this context, the PIMs team proposes targeted antimicrobial strategies with less impact on the microbiota.Your project focuses on studying the mode of action of new innovative antivirulence molecules that will act specifically in areas of inflammation. This specific action requires in-depth knowledge of microbiology and host/pathogen interaction To successfully complete your studies, you will draw on the team's expertise in microbiology and on models developed in biochemistry, molecular biology, and in vivo testing. You will develop in vitro and in vivo models to determine the host immune response and its impact on treatment during infection with resistant pathogenic bacteria. You will supervise master and doctoral students.  Expected profileCandidates with a PhD (or equivalent) and if possible a post doctoral experienceYou are willing to candidate for a permanent position in the Pims lab.You have a solid background in microbiology and host/pathogen interactions, and proven experience in cellular and in vivo models.Proven experience in writing articles, supervising, and participating in project writing.You will be a team player, have good interpersonal skills, and be able to interact with a variety of stakeholders.Good command of English and significant international professional experience are strongly recommended for this position. Send your application (CV, cover letter and 2 reference contacts) before November 30, 2025 toNalini.ramarao@inrae.fr
