Who we are: The Master Builders Association of Victoria (MBV) represents over 6,000 businesses within the building construction industry across Victoria, including large and small builders across the domestic and commercial sectors, as well as apprentices, suppliers, and manufacturers. MBV is committed to achieve an inclusive, values-based culture, where our team members have the opportunity to learn, develop and grow their careers.Key Position Tasks: We are looking for a Chief Financial Officer who wants to make a positive impact on our organisation, members and the industry. They will be responsible for shaping the financial strategy and ensuring the long-term sustainability of MBV. Key tasks include:Partner with the CEO, Board, and executive leadership to shape and execute the organisation’s long-term financial strategy, ensuring sustainability, resilience, and alignment with organisational-wide goalsCollaborate with the Deputy CEO to identify, evaluate, and deliver key commercial opportunities that generate sustainable revenue growth Collaborate with the Deputy CEO to initiate and/or acquire revenue-generating businesses that align with MBV’s strategic priorities and long-term growth objectives.Lead the development and implementation of robust financial governance frameworks and risk management systems, ensuring compliance, transparency and accountability across the organisationServe as the organisation’s principal financial representative, building trusted relationships with external stakeholders Drive financial innovation and by leveraging analytics, technology, and systems to enhance decision-making, operational efficiency, and strategic foresight across the organisationKey Skills, Attributes and Experience: Proven executive-level financial leadership experience (minimum 3–4 years at CFO, Deputy CFO, or equivalent senior finance leadership level) with demonstrated success in driving financial strategy and organisational performanceExtensive expertise in financial governance, risk management, and organisation-wide strategic planning, with a strong record of embedding frameworks that ensure long-term sustainabilitySignificant stakeholder engagement and external representation experience, with the ability to build trusted relationships with external stakeholdersRelevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, or commerce, supported by professional accreditation (CA or CPA essential; postgraduate qualifications such as MBA highly regarded)What MBV can offer you: A chance to make a positive difference for our team, our members and our industryAs a not-for-profit access to salary sacrificingHybrid work model, compressed working weeks and purchased annual leaveStrong people engagement and values-based cultureGenerous employee benefits including paid parental leave, income protection insurance, industry events and networking opportunitiesPlease note: Candidates may be subject to psychometric testing and a police clearance as part of the recruitment process.
