In 2024, Longship Fund III became the majority owner to accelerate STAR’s next phase of growth—driving innovation, global expansion, cloud transformation, and an active M&A agenda.STAR is now scaling rapidly, supported by strong market momentum and a growing international customer base.The OpportunitySTAR is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the finance organisation through a pivotal period of professionalization, integration, and scale. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the PE sponsor Longship, the CFO will build a modern finance function capable of supporting a PE-backed, multi-entity international technology group. This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on, execution-oriented finance leader who thrives in complex environments and wants to shape the financial infrastructure, operating model, and long-term value creation roadmap for a global SaaS and services organisation. Location will be at STARs headquarter in Trondheim, Norway. Key ResponsibilitiesLead financial planning, reporting, accounting, and governance across STAR’s multi-entity international group.Build and develop a high-performing finance function with scalable processes, systems, and controls.Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and PE sponsor, providing financial insights, modelling, and decision support.Drive M&A execution and integration, alongside budgeting, forecasting, and KPI-driven performance management.Implement modern financial tools and data infrastructure to enhance reporting, automation, and value creation. Candidate profileSenior finance leader with experience in SaaS/technology or industrial tech, ideally within PE-backed or high-growth environments.Strong track record in M&A execution, integration, and driving performance in multi-entity international groups.Hands-on, operational finance expertise combined with strategic capability at board and investor level.Skilled in financial modelling, planning, systems implementation, and performance management.Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting; MBA, CPA or similar credentials preferred.Pragmatic, analytical, and execution-driven, with high integrity and the ability to lead through complexity and change.Excellent communicator who builds trust, alignment, and collaboration across teams and cultures.
