Position OverviewTEDxMaitama is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team. The CFO will play a pivotal role in managing the financial strategy, planning, and operations of the organization. This individual will lead financial forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and risk management processes to ensure TEDxMaitama's financial health, growth, and sustainability.The ideal candidate will be a seasoned financial leader with experience in managing complex financial structures, optimizing revenue streams, and providing strategic financial insights to support organizational goals. Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Strategy & PlanningDevelop and execute the overall financial strategy for TEDxMaitama, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and goals.Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to ensure financial resources are allocated effectively across programs and events.Financial Reporting & AnalysisOversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports for the board of directors, senior management, and key stakeholders.Provide in-depth financial analysis to inform strategic decision-making, including cost-benefit analysis and trend identification.Cash Flow & Risk ManagementManage the organization’s cash flow, ensuring liquidity to meet operational needs.Identify financial risks and work to mitigate these through effective financial controls, insurance, and diversification strategies.Internal Controls & ComplianceDevelop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard the organization’s financial assets and ensure compliance with local regulations and TEDx guidelines.Coordinate and lead audits to assess financial performance and compliance.Revenue Generation & FundraisingCollaborate with the partnerships team to identify and pursue new revenue opportunities, including sponsorships, grants, and donor relations.Lead the development of pricing models, cost structures, and financials for TEDxMaitama events and initiatives to optimize profitability.Team Leadership & DevelopmentLead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.Provide leadership in the recruitment, training, and development of the finance department. Qualifications & SkillsEducation: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA, CPA, or other relevant certifications are a plus.Experience: Minimum of 7 years of senior-level financial management experience, preferably in non-profit or event-driven organizations.Leadership: Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.Financial Acumen: Strong expertise in financial planning, reporting, risk management, and budget development.Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.Tech Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero), financial modeling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
