The company specializes in wealth management, cooperative finance, and Halal investment solutions designed to empower individuals, businesses, and institutions across Nigeria..Job Summary:The Chief Investment Officer (CIO), Halal and Non-Interest Investments, will provide strategic leadership in developing, implementing, and managing GABS Financial Services’ investment portfolios in compliance with Islamic finance principles. The role involves driving sustainable returns through Shariah-compliant investment strategies, ensuring regulatory adherence, and positioning GABS as a leading provider of ethical and non-interest financial solutions.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership & Policy DevelopmentLead the formulation and execution of the company’s overall investment strategy, with a strong focus on Halal and non-interest financial products.Develop policies, frameworks, and investment guidelines that align with Shariah principles and organizational objectives.Advise executive management and the Board on emerging trends, risks, and opportunities in the ethical and Islamic investment space.Investment ManagementOversee the selection, structuring, and performance of all investment portfolios, ensuring optimal risk-adjusted returns.Identify and evaluate potential Halal-compliant investment opportunities in equities, Sukuk, and other non-interest instruments.Maintain close monitoring of market dynamics and proactively adjust investment strategies in response to changing conditions.Shariah Governance & ComplianceEnsure all investment activities comply strictly with Shariah principles and the guidelines of the Advisory Council of Experts (ACE).Liaise with Shariah scholars, regulators, and advisory bodies to maintain compliance and obtain necessary certifications for new products.Coordinate regular Shariah audits and certification reviews for the company’s investment portfolio.Portfolio Performance & Risk ManagementDevelop and implement risk management frameworks specific to non-interest investments.Regularly review portfolio performance, liquidity, and exposure to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic and ethical goals.Prepare and present comprehensive investment performance reports to management and the Board.Stakeholder Engagement & Business DevelopmentBuild and maintain relationships with institutional investors, regulators, and financial partners in the Halal investment ecosystem.Drive innovation in product development and promote the growth of GABS’ Halal and ethical investment offerings.Represent GABS Financial Services in relevant industry forums, conferences, and stakeholder engagements.Qualifications and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; a Master’s degree or MBA is an added advantage.Minimum of 10–15 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in senior leadership roles in investment or asset management.Proven expertise in Islamic finance, Shariah-compliant investment management, or non-interest financial instruments.Professional certifications such as CFA, CIMA, or Islamic Finance Qualification (IFQ) are highly desirable.Strong understanding of the Nigerian financial services landscape and global investment markets.Core Competencies:Deep knowledge of Islamic finance principles and non-interest investment structures.Strategic and analytical thinking with a results-oriented mindset.Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Sound risk management and portfolio analysis capabilities.Integrity, ethical commitment, and alignment with the values of Halal finance.How To Apply:Interested candidates should send their cover letter and CV's to: recruitment@gabsfinancial.com not later than 30th October, 2025.
