Chief Legal Officer

The Chief Legal Officer role at TMR presents an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced legal professional to lead the delivery of strategic, high-quality legal, information access and prosecution services across the department.As a member of the Corporate Leadership Team, the Chief Legal Officer reports directly to the Deputy Director-General (Corporate) and is responsible for the strategic leadership, coordination and performance of specialised teams within the Legal, Information Access and Prosecutions branch.In This Position You WillProvide strategic legal advice on high-risk and sensitive matters.Lead the branch across areas such as statutory interpretation, IP, contracts, workplace law, and litigation.Drive digital transformation and data analytics for operational efficiency.Develop frameworks for proactive legal and legislative service management.Advise on legislative reforms to align with government policy.Manage procurement and relationships with external legal providers.Skills / ExperienceTo be considered for this role you will have:Admission as a lawyer with ~10+ years PAE, including senior legal leadership.Experience advising government or working in public sector environments.Strong values-based leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.High-level legal expertise and commercial acumen.Analytical ability to improve systems and processes.Integrity, sound judgement, adaptability, and outcome focus.For more information about the role please refer to the role description.Applications will remain current for a period of 12 months.Job Ad Reference: QLD/669773/25Closing Date: Friday, 21st November 2025Occupational group Justice & Legal
