Working for a transactional eCommerce business that are building a payments proposition, the Chief Marketing Officer / VP Marketing / Marketing Director role involves leading a marketing team of approx. 10 to build a continually optimised full funnel conversion journey.This is an exciting specialist business that dominates their sector and has aggressive growth plans.The role is mostly office based (4, ideally 5 days per week in central London).The Chief Marketing Officer / VP Marketing / Marketing Director will:Lead brand and digital marketing activities across all group websitesDeliver all growth and output of all digital marketing for all of the Group’s websites. This includes, but is not limited to, Paid Media, SEO, Email Marketing, Digital PR, Affiliate Marketing, Retention Marketing, Social Media, Video and brand marketing. Lead and coach a team of 10, plus freelancers Develop a compelling and differentiated brand story for each brand and translate these into a vision that can be executed across channels.Develop and execute a full funnel marketing strategy that builds brand equity, brings in new customers and deepens loyalty with existing customers.Develop and execute brand, PR and product campaigns, deployed across all key markets and relevant channels, ensuring KPI’s are set, achieved and reported on.Manage the relationship and performance of any external marketing agencies engaged by the company. Where necessary, help in the procurement and assessment of new external partners. Own the reporting of all digital marketing activity and report back on performance/completed work to the CEO on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. Identify and implement synergies across the group brands to cross sell and upsell products.Research and develop new digital growth areas and present opportunities to senior management.Ensure all online marketing activity is in-line with the company’s brand guidelines and adheres to all legal requirements.Candidates for the Chief Marketing Officer / VP Marketing / Marketing Director role must have:Experience building and leading a successful eCommerce capability that has delivered significant and consistent growth.Experience from any transactional eCommerce sector, such as retail, price-comparison, travel, media, fintech, utilities, services, B2B, etc.A commercially driven mindset with the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, managing both short-term deliverables and long-term strategic goals.Strategic thinker with a strong execution focus — able to turn insight into measurable marketing performance.Skilled in customer persona development to inform targeted and effective marketing strategies.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong grasp of the English language.A proactive, positive, and resilient attitude, with a commitment to continuous improvement and professional excellence.Highly analytical, with expertise in using CRM and CMS platforms, Google Analytics, and data-driven reporting to extract insights, optimise campaign performance, and maximise marketing ROI
