This individual will be the architect of operational excellence, responsible for translating strategic vision into flawless execution. The COO will own the entire project lifecycle, from development through construction and into long-term operations, ensuring we the growth, safety, scalability, and profitability targets are met. This is a unique opportunity to shape the operational backbone of a high-growth company poised for significant market leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesExecutive Leadership & Strategic Execution - Partner with the CEO and the executive team to refine and drive the company’s long-term strategic vision and annual operating plans.Translate corporate strategy into actionable operational roadmaps, ensuring alignment across all departments including Origination, Business Development, Legal, Asset Management, and Finance.Champion a culture of excellence, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.Operational Excellence & Portfolio Management - Provide executive oversight for the late-stage development, construction, and operational performance of our portfolio of solar and battery storage assets.Implement and enforce best-in-class project management standards, processes, and controls to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.Own and optimize key operational metrics, including departmental profitability, resource utilization, and project ROI.Scalable Growth & Organizational Development - Design and build scalable operational structures and systems to support rapid growth, ensuring the organization is prepared for future scale.Develop and mentor a high-performing operations team, identifying and cultivating the next generation of company leaders.Drive the standardization of processes and workflows to ensure consistency, efficiency, and reduced execution risk across all projects.Financial & Commercial Stewardship - Lead the development and management of departmental budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.Oversee critical contract negotiations, procurement, and supply chain strategy to secure favorable terms and ensure project viability.Manage overall operational risk, proactively identifying and mitigating issues that could impact project schedules, budgets, or company reputation.Candidate ProfileA proven executive leader with a track record of success in a COO or senior operational role, ideally within the renewable energy sector, with a strong preference for solar and battery storage experience.Demonstrated expertise in managing the full project lifecycle of utility-scale or commercial renewable energy projects.A strategic thinker with the ability to dive deep into operational details, possessing a strong financial and business acumen.An exceptional leader of people, capable of building, mentoring, and inspiring high-performing, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.Expertise in implementing scalable processes, driving operational efficiency, and managing complex stakeholder relationships.A decisive and proactive problem-solver, skilled in risk management and contract negotiation.Executive Recruit is a boutique executive search firm specialising in helping organisations source and attract top-tier leadership talent.
