Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Chief Steward to join our team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As the leader of our stewarding department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our kitchens maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency.Oversee and manage the daily operations of the stewarding departmentDevelop and implement effective cleaning and sanitation proceduresEnsure compliance with HACCP principles and local food safety regulationsManage chemical inventory and oversee safe usageCreate and manage staff schedules to ensure optimal coverageTrain and mentor team members on occupational health, safety, and hygiene practicesConduct regular inspections of kitchen areas to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standardsCoordinate with suppliers and equipment contractors to maintain kitchen equipmentLead inventory management of kitchen equipment, utensils, and crockeryCollaborate with kitchen and restaurant teams to support smooth operationsImplement sustainable practices in waste management and resource utilizationQualificationsMinimum of 3 years' experience in a kitchen team member role, with proven leadership potentialPrevious managerial experience in a similar role preferredComprehensive knowledge of HACCP principles and local food safety regulations in MalaysiaFood Health & Safety and Food Handlers' certificatesStrong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detailExcellent leadership and team management abilitiesEffective communication skills in English, both verbal and writtenAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentProficiency in inventory management and scheduling softwareCommitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safetyProblem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisionsPhysical stamina to perform hands-on tasks when necessaryFlexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidaysAdditional InformationJoin us at Accor, where life pulses with passion!As a pioneer in the art of responsible hospitality, the Accor Group gathers more than 45 brands, 5,600 hotels, 10,000 restaurants, and lifestyle destinations in 110 countries.
