Stage & Milestones: seed, pre-clinical — demonstrated ex-vivo efficacy in animal models;Your work will help tackle a $20 B annual US market and restore sight for millions. The RoleAs founding CTO you will set the technological vision, own the full R&D lifecycle, and translate scientific hypotheses into a market-ready, FDA-cleared product. You’ll start hands-on, then scale and lead a multidisciplinary team.
Key ResponsibilitiesLab & System Leadership – design, build and operate RF laboratory setups/devices, run experiments with ex-vivo / in-vivo ocular tissue under GLPProduct Roadmap – drive RF hardware, EM-radiation delivery modules, control-software and supporting electronics from proof-of-concept through Design Verification & Validation to transfer for production. Regulatory Support – collaborate with QA/RA leads and consultants to develop the DHF/DMR; provide technical documentation and test data for regulatory submissions; contribute to risk analysis and usability engineering. Team Building – recruit and mentor R&D, QA/RA and clinical-study engineers (first wave planned in 2026).
Innovation Culture – foster rapid iteration and data-driven decision-making as we scale from a two-person lab to a global eye-care leader. Must-Have Qualifications8 + years in medical-device engineering including ≥ 3 years technical leadership. Proven end-to-end delivery of RF-based or other energy-delivery hardware–software systems. Hands-on RF design and testing experience (therapeutic or diagnostic); advantage: ophthalmic applications. Comfortable working directly with biological specimens under GLP. Track record of navigating through FDA/EU approvals. MSc/PhD in Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or similar. Fluent Hebrew & English. Nice-to-HaveStart-up founder or first-employee history. Network in ophthalmology medical-device manufacturing.
