Their mission is to enhance surgical performance and improve patient outcomes through the seamless integration of robotics, AI, and data-driven insights.They are now seeking a Chief Product & Technology Officer (CPTO) - a strategic and hands-on leader who can unite product vision, software excellence, AI innovation, and hardware execution under one global strategy.This role is ideal for an executive who thrives at the convergence of medical technology, AI, and product commercialization, and who has successfully scaled organizations through major growth phases.The OpportunityAs CPTO, you will lead the end-to-end product and technology strategy - overseeing hardware, AI, and software (SaMD) innovation from early R&D to global commercialization. You will drive alignment between technology and business outcomes, ensuring that product design, data architecture, and AI performance translate directly into clinical and commercial success.You will also be responsible for building and scaling global engineering teams, including transitioning or expanding R&D operations internationally, and for steering the company through the next stage of growth - from ~$10M to $100M+ revenue.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and execute the global product and technology vision, integrating hardware, software, and AI into a unified roadmap.Lead and mentor cross-functional engineering teams - spanning Software, AI/ML, and Hardware disciplines.Oversee the development of AI-powered Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) products, ensuring regulatory compliance (FDA, CE, ISO 13485).Drive full-lifecycle innovation - from early R&D and prototyping through to clinical validation, manufacturing, and commercial launch.Build scalable systems, tools, and processes that enable rapid iteration without compromising safety or compliance.Lead international transitions or expansions of R&D/engineering operations, ensuring global alignment and efficiency.Partner with the CEO, Board, and executive leadership to drive business growth, investor confidence, and technology differentiation.Build a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration across technical and product teams.Candidate ProfileProven experience as CTO, CPO, or CPTO within surgical robotics, medical imaging, or AI-driven medical device companies.Hands-on leadership of Software, AI/ML, and Hardware engineering teams delivering regulated products to market.Deep understanding of AI-powered Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) lifecycle - from concept to commercialization.Track record of scaling organizations from approximately $10M to $100M+ in revenue.Experience transitioning or scaling R&D/engineering teams internationally.Strong grasp of medical device regulations (FDA, CE, ISO 13485) and design control principles.Background in robotics, computer vision, or intelligent systems preferred.Proven ability to align technical innovation with strategic business objectives.Entrepreneurial mindset, with a track record in start-up or scale-up environments.Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Why This Role?Lead both product and technology strategy for a pioneering AI surgical robotics company.Shape the roadmap of cutting-edge AI-powered, hardware-enabled medical products.Build and scale a world-class engineering organization across disciplines and geographies.Play a key role in a high-growth phase — from innovation to commercialization.Competitive executive compensation, equity participation, and impact-driven mission.
