This role helps patients and families cope with hospitalization through play, creative expression, and normalization. The Tech also oversees volunteer and Pet Therapy programs, coordinates community events, and ensures high standards of safety, infection prevention, and customer service. Strong communication, creativity, organization, and teamwork skills are essential.Key AccountabilitiesMaintain a safe, welcoming Activity Center; monitor visitors for safety and infection control compliance. Organize and maintain materials and décor that encourage therapeutic play for patients and families. Lead recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers and Pet Therapy participants. Coordinate and oversee safe, engaging community events for patients and families. Support Project SEARCH interns and ensure adherence to Activity Center standards. Provide bedside activities to promote normalization, diversion, and coping. Collaborate with the healthcare team to integrate child life goals into care plans. Document participation and maintain records for safety and quality assurance. QualificationsAssociate’s degree in Child Development, Family Studies, Education, Psychology, or related field; OR High school diploma/GED plus relevant coursework, training, or 5 years’ pediatric experience. Ability to assess and respond to the developmental needs of children in a healthcare setting. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and coping skills in emotionally demanding environments. Salary Range: Minimum /hour - Maximum /hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
