Children’s Ground operates in Central Australia and across the Top End, with support provided by a Melbourne-based Shared Services team. About YouThis is an identified position for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. You are a skilled communicator and visual storyteller, using your creative and strategic design expertise to engage a range of audiences — from community members to partners, donors, and the wider public. Your proactive approach to people engagement and leadership drives performance and meaningful impact, while strengthening the reputation and revenue of Children’s Ground.

About The RoleThe Communications & Design Specialist is responsible for managing Children’s Ground social media, leading the organisations ambassador program and supporting the broad functions of the communications team, including design, copywriting and more. Key ResponsibilitiesThe role will:

Manage and implement the organisations social media strategy, including account management, posting, content creation and reporting;Manage and implement the Children’s Ground Ambassador Program;Support the organisation’s design needs including social media, publications, project needs and implementation of the organisational style guideContribute to the broader communications function, including contributing to strategic direction, campaigns, planning, website maintenance and policy development;Lead, develop and implement special projects as designated by the Director, PIC. Provide support to philanthropy when required.

Essential Experience And SkillsAboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identifiedDemonstrated understanding and commitment to the rights and interests of First Nations Australians.

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and deliver an organisations social media strategyAbility to manage current ambassador relationships as well as attracting and engaging with potential ambassadorsGraphic design experience, including proficient ability with the Adobe Creative Suite of softwareSound project management skills with the ability to meet KPI’sTertiary qualification in marketing, communications or relevant field and/or equivalent professional experienceExperience in engaging and building relationshipsExceptional interpersonal and communication skills including written and verbal communication skillsAbility to communicate concepts and ideas persuasively to a wide variety of audiencesDeveloped organisational skills with an ability to balance competing work priorities to meet tight deadlinesExperience using CRM databases, preferably SalesforceAn ability to undertake occasional interstate travel and outside normal business hours.
