About The BusinessWork as part of a strong and cohesive teamMidweek rotating roster (Mon-Thurs)Based at Camberwell in the Hunter ValleyWe are Australia’s largest pure-play coal producer generating over $10 billion in Foreign Direct Investment; owning, operating or participating in coal mines across NSW, Queensland and Western Australia.Located 14km northwest of Singleton, Ashton underground mine has been operational for nearly 20 years. The mine produces semi-soft coking coal for export through the Port of Newcastle, for use in the steel manufacturing industry and thermal coal for power generation. Ashton employs approximately 330 people across our surface and underground operations.Job Tasks And ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Shift Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for:Operating large mobile and ancillary equipment supporting the CHPP production tasks as directedWorking towards achieving the shift plan by being a motivated and enthusiastic team playerManaging coal stockpile movements and perform train loading operationsCarrying out maintenance tasks during maintenance periods and breakdownsProactively contributing to the safety of the team by identify risks & hazards and reporting appropriatelySupporting continuous improvement initiatives and making suggestionsEncouraging and modelling good housekeeping & equipment careSkills And ExperienceExperience operating & current tickets for Komatsu Haul Trucks, Caterpillar Dozers, Caterpillar Wheel Loaders (essential)Minimum 2 years' previous experience in a CHPP environment and/or proven experience executing similar maintenance and operational tasksElectrical Trade Qualification (essential)Detailed knowledge of equipment relevant to the CHPP and systems such as conveyors, pumps, feeders, screens, rotary breakers and training loading systemsDemonstrated commitment to safety and environmentally responsible practicesExcellent hazard identification skills with a willingness to improve safety in the workplaceBenefitsYancoal provides a range of benefits to appeal to the diverse needs of our employees.
