Job Description
We are seeking a motivated CIAM (Customer Identity and Access Management) Engineer to join our global Information Security team. This role is ideal for someone with foundational experience in identity protocols and web authentication, and a strong interest in growing their expertise in enterprise-grade access management solutions. You will contribute to the development, integration, and support of CIAM solutions that enable secure and seamless access for our users across web platforms.Please be aware that this position requires you to work nontraditional hours, with shifts scheduled from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM CET to collaborate in real-time with colleagues in the US.What You Will Do:Assist in implementing and maintaining CIAM solutions using technologies such as OIDC, SAML, and Java-based integrations.Support authentication and authorization flows for web applications, including SSO, token-based access, and encryption mechanisms.Collaborate with senior engineers to integrate CIAM platforms (e.g., Okta, Auth0, Ping) into enterprise applications.Participate in troubleshooting and resolving access-related issues across environments.Contribute to documentation of integration patterns, authentication flows, and technical designs.Learn and apply best practices in web security, identity federation, and encryption standards.Work with cross-functional teams to support CIAM-related project deliverables.What You Will NeedRequired Qualifications:1–5 years of experience in IT or software engineering, ideally in identity or access management.Solid understanding of Java and experience building or integrating web applications.Familiarity with OIDC, SAML 2.0, and web authentication protocols.Basic knowledge of encryption, certificates, and PKI infrastructure.Understanding of HTTP, DNS, and networking fundamentals.Strong problem-solving and communication skills.Eagerness to learn and grow in a collaborative team environment.Preferred Qualifications:Exposure to CIAM platforms such as Okta, Auth0, or Ping Identity.Experience with scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) or infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform).Knowledge of REST APIs, OAuth2, and federated identity concepts.Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and hybrid environments.What we offer:Competitive salaryComprehensive health packageCafeteriaAll You Can MoveRemote workingOpportunities for growth and advancementA highly people-centric, positive, and supportive work environmentAegon is an international financial service holding company headquartered in Schiphol, the Netherlands.
