We are seeking a skilled Part-Time HR Consultant to strengthen our people operations and ensure compliance as we scale.

Cinnamon is a remote company with employees and contractors operating throughout the United States in many locations. Role OverviewWe are looking for an experienced HR Consultant with expertise in Gusto’s HR platform and a proven track record in healthcare startups. The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational HR support, including recruitment, compliance, employee engagement, and policy development. This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Key ResponsibilitiesPeople Operations: Manage payroll, benefits, and employee records using Gusto’s HRIS platform, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Recruitment & Onboarding:

Develop and manage job postings, screen candidates, and create seamless onboarding experiences for new hires. Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws, including HIPAA, FLSA, FMLA, and EEOC regulations, with a focus on healthcare industry standards. Employee Engagement: Design and implement initiatives to foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture, including DEI programs and engagement surveys. Policy Development: Update and maintain employee handbooks, policies, and procedures tailored to a healthcare startup environment. HR Strategy: Advise leadership on talent management, performance frameworks, and organizational growth strategies. Reporting & Analytics:

Utilize Gusto and other HR tools to generate reports on key HR metrics, such as retention and compliance trends. QualificationsExperience: Minimum of 5 years in HR, with at least 2 years in a healthcare startup environment. Hands-on experience with Gusto’s HR platform for payroll, benefits, and employee management. Skills: Strong knowledge of HR compliance, particularly HIPAA and healthcare-related regulations. Proficiency in HRIS systems (Gusto required). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to advise leadership and support employees at all levels. Proven ability to build scalable HR processes in fast-paced, high-growth settings. Certifications:

SHRM-CP, PHR, or Gusto Certified Payroll Specialist preferred. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Availability: Ability to commit to 15–20 hours per week, with flexibility for remote work.
