What You'll DoLeadership & SupervisionOversee Planning Section operations and supervise staffDevelop goals, policies, procedures, and training initiativesPlanning & Development OversightReview land development proposals, plans, and zoning ordinancesLead long-range planning projects and strategic growth initiativesResearch & Data AnalysisCollect, interpret, and analyze data to support planning decisionsPrepare reports, presentations, and zoning amendmentsCollaboration & CompliancePresent at Planning Commission, City Council, and public meetingsCoordinate with the Metropolitan Planning Organization (DUATS) and ensure federal complianceWhat You BringBachelor's degree in Urban or Regional Planning or a related field (Master's preferred)5+ years of progressive planning experience with a strong portfolio of project leadership1+ year of supervisory experienceLocal government experience preferredAICP certification or ability to obtain within 18 months of hireEssential SkillsExpert knowledge of zoning, land use laws, urban design, and development practicesStrong analytical, GIS, and data interpretation skillsClear communication and leadership abilitiesProficient in developing policy and managing budgets
