The DHR investigator serves as an unbiased fact finder, identifying and securing information through interaction with complainants, respondents, witnesses, legal representatives, and other relevant parties to prepare detailed reports summarizing their findings. Human Resources and Civil ServiceSalary: $57,574 - $62,670 per yearQualifying RequirementsWORK EXPERIENCE: The application must clearly show one (1) year of full-time, paid experience conducting workplace or other related investigations. EDUCATION/TRAINING: The application must clearly show a Bachelor’s Degree from a fully accredited institution in Human Resources, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Business Administration or a related field. EQUIVALENCY:

Education/training and/or work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis if the application clearly shows the required number of years to meet the Total Qualifying Requirement for this position (based on the sum of work experience and education/training listed above). The Total Qualifying Requirement is five (5) years. POSITION DUTIESInvestigates alleged violations of laws, regulations, and City policies including those prohibiting discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and workplace bullying. Prepares an investigative plan; analyzes the claim to determine necessary witnesses’ plans and devises the relevant questions to ask each witness. Collects and analyzes evidence and statements.

Interviews complainants and witnesses to gather facts. Conducts interviews via telephone, in person, or video conference. Provides timely communication to all relevant parties throughout the investigation process. Testifies as requested or required. Maintains confidential case files. Protects and preserves the confidentiality of all Human Resources and Civil Service information and investigations. Interacts with employees at all levels, helping to develop understanding, transparency, and trust around the City’s investigative process. Discusses all findings with the Assistant Director. Works independently to complete tasks promptly.
