This is a highly responsible and professional management position assisting the Human Resources Director with overseeing the daily operations and long-term strategy of the Human Resources Department. The position provides leadership in policy development, employee and labor relations, classification and compensation, recruitment, performance management, workers’ compensation, and organizational development. The Assistant Director represents the department in the Director’s absence and plays a key role in fostering a positive, high-performing workplace culture across the City. Employees in this classification serve at the pleasure of the City and may be terminated at any time with or without cause.
