Assists with tree maintenanceAssists with set-up and tear down of special eventsAssists with sport fields and parkland by aerating, top dressing, over seeding and mowing turf with tractors, wide area mowers, string trimmers and line painters.

Operates machinery including vehicles, commercial mowers, tractors, chainsaws, stump grinder, woodchipper and small equipment in accordance with City of Woodstock policies and procedures, Park’s Department Policies and Procedures as well as the Occupational Health and Safety Act, including all applicable regulationsKeeps precise and accurate records of daily inspectionsPurchases supplies regarding park activitiesAssists with training temporary and summer staffProvides general information to the public and assisting them with their concerns and complaints when possibleMoves supplies, picnic tables and equipment as directedCleans washrooms, toilets, showers, and other public use areasCollects and disposes of garbage and litter as directedSets up seasonal operations as directed (i.

e. clearing trails, cleaning equipment, trail and park signage, horticulture, setting up sports fields, winter lights)Minor equipment repair and maintenance or co-ordinates through a trade person the repair of said equipment directed by the Supervisor of Parks and ForestryClears snow from all city buildings, walkways, drives, parking lots, trails, and sidewalksPerforms other related duties as directed by the Supervisor of Parks and Forestry or designateQualifications:

EssentialGrade 12 or equivalent and/or relevant experience will be consideredValid Class “DZ” Driver’s License and good driving historyPreferredExperience operating a wide variety of equipmentMust have or be willing to obtain training with MTO Book 7 for Temporary Conditions, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other applicable legislationMust be willing to obtain chainsaw, stump grinder and woodchipper training for forestry emergencies within the time limits set by the corporationMust have or be willing to obtain Standard First Aid and CPR training.

Must be willing to obtain fall arrest and working at heights trainingMust be willing to maintain all certificates, courses, and updates and maintain all qualifications. Working Conditions: Subject to working in all weather conditions. Works in dirty conditions and is required to do heavy liftingSubject to shift work and overtime as requiredScheduled 40 hour work week which may include weekends and alternate shift hours from May 1st until October 31st.
