About The RoleAt the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), we are seeking a driven and solution-oriented advisor to join our Commercial and Procurement team. From creating important procurement documentation to offering guidance on policy, sustainability, and the use of All-of-Government contracts, you will be able to assist managers in a variety of commercial and procurement activities with reliable, best-practice advice and support in this role. You'll be crucial in assisting with project delivery, enhancing procedures, and fostering cooperative relationships throughout the organisation.

Civil Aviation Authorities procurement procedures will be more reliable, open, and future-ready if you can evaluate whole-of-life costs and risks, analyse procurement options, and assist with efficient contract management. For someone who likes to work proactively with stakeholders to solve issues and have a positive impact, this is a fantastic opportunity. The starting salary for the Advisor, Commercial and Procurement within Corporate Services group is between $83,600 and $102,302. Starting salaries are based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, as well as internal relativities.

What You’ll BringWe are looking for a self-motivated, strategic thinker with excellent relationship building skills who enjoys making a difference in an environment that is outcomes focused. We are looking for someone who is ready to contribute to procurement and commercial initiatives across the organisation. You will have proven experience, ideally in managing end to end open sourcing procurement initiatives within the public sector. You will also have successfully negotiated contracts that reflect the best possible outcomes for an organisation. Essential to securing this role will be your ability to demonstrate:

Experience in commercial advisory and/or procurement, preferably in the public sectorStrong knowledge of sourcing and procurement best practicesProficiency in contract management, supplier negotiations, and relationship strategiesAbility to read and evaluate complex documents and information, such as financial, legal, and corporate dataOutstanding interpersonal abilities with internal and external stakeholdersExcellent communication skills both in writing and verbalHigh precision and attention to detail. Self-driven, well-organised, and capable of working both individually and collaboratively within a team. Although you will have firm foundation in procurement practice, there will be opportunities to develop new skills and take on more challenging projects.
