We create value for our clients and our staff by challenging the status quo that is offered by multi-national consultancies.About The RoleWe have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineer and Senior Civil Engineer with water industry design experience to join our team of industry specialists. In this role you will play a key part in developing technical solutions and delivering projects on a variety of long-term contracts for our valued clients – including Sydney Water, Melbourne Water, all three Melbourne metro water agencies, Barwon Water, and most regional Victorian water agencies, amongst others around Australia and New Zealand. Opportunity to be based out of our Perth, Sydney, New Zealand or Melbourne office.As a versatile engineer, you will be able to pursue your interests in engineering, project management and client relationships, with opportunities for leading key client contracts and/or team leadership for the right candidate. This role will require you to work with and train younger engineers on the job, whilst being supported by and learning from a group of Principal engineers who are leaders in the water industry. As such, your strong communication skills, including the ability to establish effective working relationships, will be critical to your success.What will you be doing? Master planning through to conceptual, functional, detailed design, and construction support of water assets – treatment plants, storages, pipelines and pump stations; Appreciating client or project technical requirements, developing solutions and leading the preparation of multi-disciplinary design documentation; Design-only and design & construct projects with several construction partners; Working directly with our clients to build strong relationships and deliver consistently to meet their needs; Managing design projects and/or leading or reviewing civil designs; Guiding preparation and/or preparing technical drawings in 2D and 3D to Client specifications and digital engineering standards; Opportunity to have input into the strategic direction of CMP into the future by drawing on your experience, knowledge and contacts in the industry.About YouWe would like you to bring a consultative approach, with an ability to prioritise your work and get things done – and to enjoy what you do, like we do. Ideally you will also possess the following: Tertiary qualification in Civil or Environmental Engineering; Experience in civil engineering is required, with consulting experience in the water industry. Similar infrastructure industries will be considered; Demonstrated ability to undertake civil design and work effectively across disciplines; Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently to budgeted hours and timeframes; Chartered (CPEng) and registered for Civil Engineering in Victoria (PER), or ability to obtain these within an agreed timeframe (with CMP support); applicable for the Senior role.Why work here?
