Civil Engineer

Our customer is looking for an experienced Civil Project Engineer who takes ownership of the technical aspects of civil engineering projects while managing their execution from start to finish.This dual role combines a strong engineering foundation with project management responsibilities, ensuring that technical excellence goes hand in hand with structured delivery.The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who can independently drive projects, coach others, and proactively manage risks.ResponsibilitiesLead the technical scope of civil projects, including design reviews, technical validation, and quality controlManage project execution: define scope, develop schedules, monitor budgets, and coordinate resourcesServe as the main point of contact for civil works, liaising with architects, contractors, and internal stakeholdersConduct site visits to monitor progress and resolve technical issuesPrepare and maintain project documentation such as reports, specifications, and drawingsEnsure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and quality standards (EHS & TMB)Identify and mitigate project risks through structured planning and proactive decision-makingProvide technical support during procurement and contractor evaluationsParticipate in project reviews, audits, and safety inspectionsCoach junior engineers and support AutoCAD/Revit designersProfileMaster’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering TechnologyMinimum 7 years of experience in civil engineering with proven project management exposureStrong knowledge of concrete calculations and industrial steel structuresSkilled in writing clear and comprehensive calculation notesAbility to combine technical depth with project coordination (approx. 50% engineering / 50% management)Familiar with structural calculation software (e.g. SCIA Engineer) – knowledge of steel connection design is a plusExperience with EHS and quality systems in industrial environmentsProficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and ideally NavisworksFamiliar with TMB regulations is an assetStrong focus on safety throughout all project phasesExperience working with or for contractors (engineering or execution) is highly valuedExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsStructured, problem-solving mindset with proactive approach to risk managementFluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written)
