We are currently Tendering for experienced Civil Roadworks Inspectors -interested in joining us and capable of committing to the following assignments for an initial 18 months with the possibility of ongoing extensions and other projects in other regions.The purpose of these roles is to contribute to the Flood Recovery of the region's road network & inspect the damage & construction of Asphalt roadworks to Transport and Main Roads' (DTMR) quality specifications & standards.If you are already TMR Pre-Qualified as an IR01 or IR02, we will help you to upgrade your Pre-Qual to an IR02 or IR03.(Note: If you are a Civil Roadworks Supervisor, this would be the ideal opportunity to gain the necessary TMR experience to gain a 'TMR pre-qualication'.Responsibilities Use comprehensive knowledge of TMR policies, standards and specifications and be able to read, understand and interpret technical documents & standards; Prepare written documents including daily diary, submissions/reports & test results; Communicate with the Contractor and/or Contract Administrators, Senior Engineers or Principals Representatives and keep them informed of progress and quality of works; and Provide effective administration, surveillance and recording of documentation generated during the construction including photos;Mandatory ExperienceThe person applying for this role must have a minimum of 5 to 10 years' extensive practical experience as a labourer, foreman &/or Supervisor and at least 1 to 2 years as a Civil Roads Inspector / Surveillance Officer on Civil Roads Infrastructure Construction Projects working either directly or indirectly for or with the QLD Dep't of Transport & Main Roads on DTMR Projects & be well versed and experienced with their policies, procedures & standards, Or; alternatively, any Australian Road Authority, directly or indirectly. Computer skills in Microsoft Windows operating system, MS Word, MS Excel, file management and email. Using a phone or tablet to record photographic evidence of site based work preparation, undertaken or finalised. Demonstrable Computer or tablet based diarising or reporting software skills.Must have a driver's licence and have access to own transport to/from home to site or an airport & a mobile phone. Own laptop will be an advantage.Preference will be given to someone already living in Central QLD &/or willing to relocate there, however we will consider FIFO &/or DIDO alternatives. The proposed hours are nominally 40 per week, although may be more or less hours due to project demands or weather events. The sites will be in the Barcaldine region. Some weekend work may be required to be flexible around the works and flight days which may not be available every single day to every airport.Strictly current Australian Residents only due to the client Quality Standard requirements.
