We’re united by a shared commitment to excellent and equitable health care.Position OverviewUnder the direction of the Environmental Cleaning and Laundry Services Supervisor, the Cleaner I will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, residents, families and staff.ExperienceOne-year health care related experience preferred.Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)Minimum Grade 10 education or equivalent required.Qualifications And SkillsAbility to follow sanitation and hygiene standards.Ability to adhere to all Workplace Safety and Health policies and procedures and safe work practices.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the demonstrated ability to accurately speak, read, write and comprehend English.Ability to follow directions and perform routine repetitive work routines.Ability to accept changes in routine/work assignment and maintain workflow.Demonstrates effective time management and organizational skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters pertaining to the hospital, residents/patients and their families.Physical RequirementsPhysical ability to meet the position demands, including constant standing, walking, bending and lifting.This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT.
