This is a salaried position based on 30 hours/week, with seasonal increases to 40 hours/week during our busiest months. Starting pay begins at $15/hour for entry-level candidates, with an average pay trajectory of $18/hour, and the potential to earn $22/hour based on performance, consistency, and skill development.
💼 What You’ll Be DoingAs a Roasting Technician, you’ll be the engine behind our roasting and packaging operations. While no prior roasting experience is required, you’ll be expected to learn and become proficient in all aspects of coffee production—from green bean to packaged product. Core Responsibilities: Roast and Package Coffee: Weekly roasting (typically Tuesday and Wednesday) with overflow as needed. Packaging will be your primary task until seasonal help joins. Maintain Quality: Support roasting consistency through tasting, logging roast profiles, and monitoring product loss. Inventory Management: Monitor and request green coffee inventory to avoid shortages.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform weekly, quarterly, and annual maintenance on roasters. Physical Work: Lift, drag, and move items up to 100 lbs as needed. Must be comfortable standing for extended periods. Multitasking & Time Management: Work efficiently to meet weekly roast and fulfillment deadlines. Deliveries: Deliver product to various residential and commercial addresses throughout Central PA. The IRS reimbursement rate for mileage applies. 📘 What We’re Looking ForNo experience required, but you must be eager to learn and take ownership of the roasting and packaging process. A strong work ethic with attention to detail and consistency.
