This engagement centers on designing and implementing a scalable, secure, and efficient containerized development pipeline to support the client’s growing use of Kubernetes and Azure Container Apps. A Cloud Architect will provide architectural direction, re-architecture recommendations, and hands-on guidance to help the client overcome gaps in containerization expertise and establish a robust CI/CD framework that supports long-term scalability and operational excellence.ResponsibilitiesDefine and lead the architectural strategy for containerized application development in Azure.Design and implement scalable CI/CD pipelines tailored for Kubernetes and Azure Container Apps.Provide hands-on guidance for containerization best practices, including image management, orchestration, and deployment.Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to align infrastructure and application architecture.Assess existing systems and recommend re-architecture strategies to improve performance, scalability, and maintainability.Ensure security, reliability, and compliance across the containerized development lifecycle.Document architecture decisions, pipeline configurations, and operational procedures to support knowledge transfer and long-term maintainability.QualificationsProven experience as a senior-level Cloud Architect with a strategic mindset and hands-on implementation capabilities.Deep expertise in containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.Strong hands-on experience with Azure Container Apps and Kubernetes in production environments.Demonstrated success designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications.Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar pipeline orchestration tools.Ability to provide architectural direction and re-architecture recommendations in complex cloud environments.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to guide cross-functional teams.Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform is a plus.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.Compensation$100 - $125 per hour - Dependent on fit and experience.
