Our flagship product, the Corsano Solution, is a CE-MDR-certified and FDA-cleared system designed to monitor vitals such as heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate, saturation and temperature. Our cloud platform runs on AWS and is designed following ISO 27001 best practices for information security, privacy and resilience.As a Cloud – Backend Developer, you will play a key role in designing and developing the Corsano Cloud backend. You will build and maintain APIs and services that ingest, process, store, and expose high-frequency physiological data from thousands of patients. You’ll work closely with our mobile, firmware, data science, and clinical teams to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing solutions. This position is involved in processing health information and requires a strong focus on privacy, security, and robustness.At Corsano, we offer you a varied and engaging role within a fast-growing scale-up environment that blends innovation with healthcare. You will gain valuable experience in designing medical-grade cloud architectures, collaborating with hospitals and research institutions on life-saving applications.Key Responsibilities:Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs for ingesting, processing, and exposing wearable sensor data at scale.Develop and operate cloud-native solutions on AWS, using best practices for reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.Implement and maintain security-by-design in line with ISO 27001, including IAM, encryption in transit and at rest, logging, monitoring, and access controls.Build and optimize data pipelines for near real-time and batch processing of vital signs and events.Own services end-to-end: architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and incident response.Contribute to and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code setups.Collaborate closely with mobile, firmware, data science, and product teams to define technical requirements and interfaces.Work with our Quality & Regulatory teams to ensure proper documentation, change control, and compliance with medical device and security standards.Troubleshoot issues in production and continuously improve performance, resilience, and developer experience.Who We're Looking For:3+ years of experience as a backend or cloud engineer, preferably in a SaaS or data-intensive environment.Strong programming skills in one or more backend languages (e.g., Python, Node.js, Java, or Go).Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, ECS/EKS or Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudWatch, IAM).Experience in designing and consuming RESTful APIs; experience with event-driven architectures (e.g., SQS, SNS, Kafka/Kinesis).Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/MySQL) and familiarity with NoSQL datastores.Experience with containerization (Docker) and, ideally, orchestration (Kubernetes or ECS).Familiarity with information security, secure coding practices, and standards such as ISO 27001, GDPR and HIPAA.Comfortable with CI/CD tools and automated testing (unit, integration, and load testing).Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.Fluency in English (spoken and written).What We Offer:The opportunity to work on a mission-driven product that directly contributes to better healthcare and patient outcomes.A central role in shaping the architecture and evolution of the Corsano Cloud platform on AWS.Collaboration with hospitals, research institutions in an international environment.How to Apply:Please apply by contacting Zak Wu at zak.wu@corsano.com Send your CV (in English) along with a brief explanation of your motivation and relevant experience with AWS and backend development.
