This is a great opportunity to join early as a co-founder or core team member and shape the future of AI-driven data tools from the ground up.As Co-Founding Data Engineer, you’ll:Design and maintain the data backboneArchitect and optimize AWS RDS (PostgreSQL) for scalable analyticsManage schema migrations with Drizzle ORMDefine efficient data pipelines for uploads, transformations, and exportsDevelop and scale AI-powered analysis pipelinesIntegrate LLM-based AI features (formula generation, visualization suggestion, data summarization)Implement RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) workflows to enhance contextual AI responsesDevelop API endpoints for AI query handlingOptimize cloud infrastructureManage EC2, S3, IAM, and ALB configuration for security and scalabilityImprove CI/CD pipelines and monitoring toolsImplement data caching and cost optimization strategiesCollaborate on product and UX decisionsWork closely with the founder, front-end engineer, and UI designerTranslate user workflows into technical solutionsDrive product improvement through metrics and data feedback loopsBuild for growth & fundraising readinessPrepare clean, documented code for investor demos and scale testsMain Qualifications:Strong knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript and experience building backends with Node.jsDeep understanding of PostgreSQL (schema design, indexing, query optimization)Familiarity with ORM tools such as Drizzle ORM or PrismaSolid grasp of AWS architecture including EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, and ALBAbility to design and maintain secure, scalable backend setupsExperience with API design and integration (REST or GraphQL)Familiarity with AI/LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, or Amazon BedrockCapability to build data pipelines for uploading, transforming, and analyzing structured datasetsUnderstanding of CI/CD workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions) and version control with GitNice to Have Qualifications:Understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) or vector search (e.g., Pinecone, FAISS, pgvector)Familiarity with data visualization workflows or libraries (Chart.js, D3.js, or Plotly)Experience working with spreadsheet formats (Excel/CSV parsing, SheetJS, XLSX libraries)Knowledge of DevOps practices (monitoring, logging, scaling with ASG or ECS)Experience deploying full-stack apps with React / Next.jsUnderstanding of AI prompt engineering and integrating large language models into appsIf you’re excited by the idea of building an AI-powered data product from the ground up and want to be part of a founding team shaping the future of data analysis, we’d love to hear from you.
