Job Description

Job SummaryThe Enterprise Applications Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying business solutions using Microsoft Power Platform tools, Power BI, Fabric and Agents. This role involves collaborating with business stakeholders to understand requirements, building efficient and scalable solutions, and providing ongoing maintenance and support. Key ResponsibilitiesSolution Design and Development: Design and develop Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models to support business decision-making. Build and maintain data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric (including Dataflows Gen2, Lakehouses, and Pipelines). Develop and publish Paginated Reports using Power BI Report Builder and integrate them into Power BI Service.

Optimize data models for performance and usability in Power BI. Monitor and troubleshoot data refreshes, report performance, and data quality issues. Manage Power BI Administration tasks such as Gateways, connections, workspaces, publishing Apps, granting, and controlling user access, creating roles and row level security etc. Stay current with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric updates and best practices. Requirements Gathering And Analysis Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements. Translate business requirements into technical specifications and solutions. Integration And Data ManagementIntegrate solutions with other Microsoft 365 services and external systems.

Manage data sources and connections within the Power Platform. Ensure data security and compliance. Testing And DeploymentConduct thorough testing of Power BI solutions to ensure quality and functionality. Deploy solutions to production environments and provide post-deployment support. Maintenance And SupportProvide ongoing maintenance and support for Power BI solutions. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Power BI applications and workflows. QualificationsMinimum of 5 years of hands-on Power BI development and Power BI Service Admin experience. Knowledge of business functions and their IT system needs (sales, purchasing, inventory/warehousing, logistics, factory maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger).

Knowledge of Agile Project Management, Scrum methodologies, and Waterfall development techniques. Understanding of Microsoft 365 services and Azure. Understanding of Dataverse. Experience with data modeling and database concepts. Experience with programming languages such as T-SQL, Python or R. Knowledge of cloud computing concepts. Understanding of Application Lifecycle Management principles. Experience designing and developing data warehouse solutions. Experience with Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse and Data Warehouses.
