Just 30 minutes west of Columbus, OH, situated at the junction of the Licking River and Muskingum River.Job DescriptionThe Combustion Engineer works in partnership with the Batch and Furnace Manager, and the Production and Quality Managers, to produce glass containers at continuously improving levels of quality and efficiency.The Combustion Engineer Should HaveStrong analytical skills and data analysisExperience scheduling preventative maintenanceExperience with environmental regulations is a plusExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong troubleshooting skills The Combustion Engineer WillEnsure safe and efficient operating conditions of glass melting furnacesEnsure optimal energy consumption and proper burner set-up (flame geometry, length, overall profile)Ensure furnace conditions are within prescribed parameters through daily inspectionsReview furnace data on a daily basis and make adjustments as neededAssist in managing production targetsSupport continuous improvement and elimination of waste through ongoing analysis and identification of inefficienciesAssist with troubleshooting problems within the manufacturing processQualificationsHigh School diploma required, technical degree preferred (chemical, mechanical, ceramic, or manufacturing)3-5 years of experience in manufacturingAble to perform a physical, hands-on job, on the plant floorAble to lead and work independently in relief of the Batch and Furnace ManagerMust be available for continuous operationsAdditional InformationWhat we offer at O-I:Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is between $75,000 - 90,000 and includes a possible 12% quarterly incentive bonus.
