Overall Purpose of The Job Commercial & Business Development Director – OffshoreTo lead the commercial and business development strategy for V.Offshore’s Floater (FPSO/FSO) and Offshore Support Vessel (OSV) ship management businesses worldwide. The role will report to the Offshore MD but also work closely with the General Manager and the Operations Director/s to secure new contracts, expand market presence, and maximise the value of existing accounts.Operating under the strategic direction of the V.Offshore MD, the role will ensure consistent global coverage and drive sustainable revenue growth across all regions.Key Responsibilities And TasksGlobal Business Development & Market Expansion Develop and execute a global BD strategy covering both Floater and OSV ship management markets. Support the General Manager and Operations Director/s in regional pursuits while ensuring alignment with the overall commercial growth plan. Identify, pursue, and secure new client contracts with oil majors, independents, asset owners, and charterers in target markets worldwide. Build and maintain a robust global opportunity pipeline with stage-gate management, forecasting accuracy, and high conversion rates. Represent V.Offshore at major industry events, conferences, and client meetings internationally.Commercial Leadership & Bid Management Lead commercial negotiations and pricing strategies to ensure competitiveness and profitability. Register with new clients as approved service provider / vendor, pursue relevant ITTs globally for new builds, conversions, and operations of all Offshore assets. Coordinate the preparation of high-quality proposals and tender responses across our offshore regional offices, ensuring a unified and professional approach. Implement and monitor a consistent commercial operating model across all geographies. Work with the General Manager and Operations Director/s to ensure commercial commitments are operationally deliverable.Account Growth & Retention Develop Customer Success Plans for all major accounts in both divisions and geographies. Lead regular business reviews with key clients alongside regional leads. Drive cross-selling of services and new solutions to maximise yield per vessel. Manage service recovery, client complaints, and attrition reduction globally. Identify new services to build on our existing capabilities and grow the business with proposing new to cultivate new capabilities.Market Intelligence & Strategic Insight Maintain up-to-date market intelligence on global Floater and OSV sectors, including competitor activity, regulatory changes, and emerging opportunities. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to the MD, General Manager, and Operations Directors. Collaborate with Group Commercial on innovation and product development initiatives.People & Capability Development Coach and mentor commercial team members in different regions to strengthen BD skills and customer engagement capabilities. Proven track record of securing major ship management or O&M contracts globally, preferably across multiple regions. Strong international network with oil majors, independents, and asset owners. Experience working with geographically dispersed teams and managing global commercial strategies. Expertise in contract negotiation, pricing, and commercial risk management. Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment, balancing multiple reporting relationships. Strong financial literacy with the ability to translate commercial strategies into revenue growth. Excellent cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills. Willingness to travel extensively worldwide. Desirable Prior experience in both commercial and operational roles within ship management. Knowledge of emerging digital and analytics tools for vessel performance monitoring and client reporting. Experience in JV or strategic partnership development in the offshore marine sector. Additional language skills relevant to key offshore markets (e.g., Arabic, Portuguese, French, Chinese, Malay).
