Yes, but, hey, that's what got us here).Now, we’re on the lookout for a Commercial Manager to help us bring that vision to even more travellers.About The Role(Hybrid)We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join our APAC commercial team and support our partnerships and advertising activities in the Japan market. Skyscanner is in a phase of rapid growth and is on a clear path to solidifying our position as the regional leader for travel meta-search — a position we already hold in much of APAC. You will be responsible for operating a true partnership model, supporting both our core flights partnerships and advertising revenue across desktop, mobile web, and app platforms.What You’ll Be DoingIdentify and secure key partnership opportunities in Japan, including airlines, online travel agents, and advertising clients. Negotiate and close commercial deals, owning the process from initial conversation through to on-site implementation. Work closely with internal teams (technical, operations, product, delivery, and billing) to ensure successful partner integrations and advertising campaign execution. Develop and execute account plans that position Skyscanner as a strategic and trusted partner across both flights and ads. Nurture and grow existing partners by identifying opportunities for additional advertising solutions, multi-market campaigns, and long-term collaborations. Proactively pursue new business opportunities and provide accurate forecasts for revenue and partner traffic. Apply analytical skills to understand our partners’ changing business needs, using data to optimize performance and identify new growth areas. Monitor key performance metrics to ensure both flights and advertising partnerships deliver results and client satisfaction. Contribute to the ongoing definition and refinement of market-specific sales strategies, and actively influence the evolution of Skyscanner’s products and commercial propositions. Represent Skyscanner at external events and industry gatherings to promote our brand and deepen market relationships. About YouProven success in consultative or solution-based sales, and strong client management experience. Experience working with Airlines, OTAs, media agencies, or related sectors are a plus. Understanding of the digital advertising ecosystem in Japan — including ad networks, ad exchanges, DSPs, and mobile advertising — are a plus. Ability to communicate value and influence decision makers are a plus. Analytical proficiency with the ability to forecast revenue and partner performance using data. Appreciation of an international, technology-driven business and cross-functional ways of working. Fluent in Japanese and English; Korean or other Asian languages are a plus.
