Job Title: Commercial Strategy Assistant Manager (Singapore)Reports to: Country Head, SingaporeLocation: SingaporeRole OverviewWe are seeking a Commercial Strategy Assistant Manager to act as a strategic thought partner to the Country Commercial Head in Singapore. This role plays a pivotal part in driving business performance by connecting commercial insights, market intelligence, and financial analyses into clear strategic recommendations. You will have the opportunity to look at the total business, spanning sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain, and help steer strategic decisions that shape business growth in Singapore and across SEA.The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with strategic thinking and communication excellence, thriving in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.Key Responsibilities1. Strategic Planning & Commercial InsightsPartner closely with the Country Head to translate business priorities into actionable strategies.Develop and structure executive-ready presentations for internal, regional, and global stakeholders.Support annual planning, portfolio strategy, and commercial initiatives, including pricing, channel mix, and customer strategy.Lead market and competitor analyses to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.2. Business Performance & AnalyticsBuild a comprehensive view of commercial performance, integrating data from Sales, Marketing, and Finance.Extract and analyse retailer sales data on a regular basis to provide timely insights and performance tracking for the commercial team.Lead deep-dive analyses on ROI of trade investments, category profitability, pricing dynamics, and market share movements.Develop business dashboards and reporting tools that enable timely, data-driven decision-making.Connect financial results to business drivers, highlighting the “so what / now what” for management decisions.3. Cross-Functional LeadershipServe as a bridge between functions to ensure alignment across sales, marketing, and finance.Drive cross-functional projects such as retail display performance, logistics cost optimization, and commercial efficiency initiatives.Enable teams to focus on their core deliverables by centralizing and streamlining strategic analyses.Expected OutcomesEnable the Country Head to focus on strategic decision-making and leadership priorities.Provide insightful, data-backed, and story-ready recommendations that influence key business directions.Strengthen organizational agility through improved business performance visibility and proactive risk/opportunity identification.Ideal Candidate ProfileMust-HavesStrong commercial and financial acumen: solid grasp of P&L, pricing, promotions, and investment ROI.Ability to connect data with market realities and derive actionable insights.Strategic and structured communicator, can craft concise, persuasive storylines for leadership audiences.FMCG or consumer goods background, ideally with regional or Singapore/SEA exposure.Advanced Excel proficiency; familiarity with Power BI or Tableau is an advantage.Preferred ExperienceBackground in commercial strategy, business planning, or consulting within FMCG.Prior experience as a Commercial or Strategy Analyst/Assistant Manager in regional or cross-functional roles.Soft SkillsHighly structured, analytical, and detail-oriented, yet able to see the big picture.Self-driven and proactive, anticipates needs and independently drives analyses or projects.Comfortable navigating ambiguity and reprioritizing in a fast-changing environment.Reporting & CollaborationReports directly to the Country Head, Singapore.Actively participates in Singapore/SEA leadership discussions, commercial reviews, and planning sessions.Works cross-functionally with Finance, Sales, and Marketing to consolidate insights efficiently without creating bottlenecks.
