Job Description
A commis chef is an entry-level position in a kitchen that assists senior chefs by performing a wide range of basic culinary tasks, including preparing ingredients, following recipes, and maintaining cleanliness. Key duties involve food preparation, such as washing and chopping vegetables, measuring ingredients, and seasoning meats, as well as assisting with deliveries, stock rotation, and cleaning. The role provides hands-on experience across different kitchen sections to learn various cooking techniques. We are looking COMMIS CHEF for Bakery, Pastry, Hot and Cold KitchenKey responsibilitiesFood preparation: Preparing ingredients, which includes washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning fruits and vegetables. Measuring and mixing ingredients for recipes. Seasoning and preparing meats and fish before they are cooked. Kitchen assistance: Assisting station chefs (chef de partie) with various tasks as directed. Supporting the preparation of dishes and learning cooking techniques. Learning about different sections of the kitchen to determine areas of interest. Inventory and stock management: Receiving and unpacking deliveries. Storing food items properly and rotating stock to remove expired products. Assisting with inventory checks and reporting low supplies. Hygiene and safety: Cleaning and sanitizing all food stations, equipment, and the kitchen area daily. Following all health, safety, and food safety regulations. Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene.
