ROLE OVERVIEWCommodity Risk Manager – Short-Term European Gas and PowerWe are looking for an outstanding Commodity Risk Manager based in Denmark to join our Commodities Risk Management team. The position offers the opportunity for an employee to build a world-class global commodity business by providing management with a reliable and inclusive view of overall commodity risk. As a partner to the commodity business, the candidate must engage, challenge, and support the commodity desks.The commodity business unit is one of the newest and fastest growing profit centers at BAM, rapidly onboarding new markets and staff around the globe to grow financial and physical trading capabilities.This role will help grow short-term physical gas and power strategies while working with a business and within a risk team that covers the entire commodity complex.Responsibilities include:Challenge desks’ profit generation and risk allocation based on a sound understanding of commodities and macro drivers.Work closely with investment teams, other risk colleagues, and compliance to assess, quantify and communicate the risks and returns of short-term physical trading strategies.Brief other risk managers outside commodities proactively on commodity specific risks and apply insights from other risk managers to commodity risk.Communicate risks to management in a concise, fair, and effective manner.Demonstrate a hands-on attitude to performing all commodity risk tasks.Onboard new power and gas markets and products and create appropriate risk frameworks encompassing management of physical assets, balancing services, and intraday risk. RequirementsMinimum 5 years of experience in Trading, Risk and/or Operations for short-term physical gas and power trading.Experience with European power and gas intraday trading and balancing risk as well as high frequency execution.Knowledge of within-day gas, intraday continuous power, balancing products, security of supply and other short term gas and power strategies.Familiarity with physical power and gas asset transactions, swings, storage, interconnector capacity, tolls, etc.Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Excel preferred
