This is an unpaid role Organization description: Youth Forge is a fast-paced global research organization with an extensive international network dedicated to uncovering the challenges of 18 founders. We believe in challenging the social norms and systematic standards, aiming to make an innovative economy. We focus on the voices of the underrepresented youth and collect statistics through partnerships with high schools, business hubs, local chambers of commerce, or business clubs. We utilize this data by partnering with organizations to shape the future of entrepreneurship. Organizations include the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, which proposes policies, as well as university business mentorships and innovation hubs. We envision a world where innovation is not limited by age. Our organization consists of 40 active directors and interns ranging from 14-30 years old, all working towards youth innovation.Position: Marketing internDepartment: CommunicationReports to: Communication DirectorType: volunteer Location: Remote Role description: We are looking for an engaging social media editor intern to develop and maintain our brand's social media presence. In this role, you will be required to develop content conceptual communication strategies and campaigns, track user engagement and activity, ensure consistency in the brand's digital tone and image. To ensure success as our social media editor intern, you should have a keen eye for detail and experience managing a variety of social media networks. You should be able to effectively interpret analytics and implement social strategies that result in increased engagement, brand positioning and brand recognition. Key responsibilitiesAs a Social Media Editor you will produce and edit daily content using different formats such as: graphics, short videos, reels and written posts adapting them for specific platform requirements ( Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook ). You will plan and organize content using social media calendars and sheets, to ensure a consistent and engaging presence of Youth Forge’s branding in all of the company social media platforms. You will answer comments and messages, cultivating the organization's community throughout all of social channels maintaining the brand's voice, personality and purpose. You are going to track analytics to measure the performance of posts, understand the audience, the trends and use that data to continually improve our social media presence in order to offer our target audience valuable, engaging and appealing content. You will work closely with the Director of Communication, the Executive Director to guarantee the content aligns with overall campaign goals and brand guidelines. A weekly communication meeting area will take place to review and plan the weeks of work.You will need to be updated with new social media features and trends to keep content fresh and relevant while maintaining the core communication and campaign guidelines of the overall creative strategy. You will review and edit content ensuring it is free of errors before publishing. Required skillsStrong creative writing and editing skills. Desirable experience with video editing software and other multimedia content creation tools. Deep understanding of how different social media platforms work and what kind of content performs and best suits our communication and campaign goals in each of those platforms. Ability to analyze data and use its insights to constantly improve the content production and strategy. Ability to align social media content with broader marketing, communication and brand objectives ensuring the omnichannel structured interconnection. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), graphic design - video editing (Canva, Photoshop, Capcut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut etc) or web content management systems. Ability to work well in a team environment. Willingness and ability to adapt to new environments and learn new things. Proactive, creative and innovative are key characteristics for the position. Fluent in English. Passionate about youth empowerment and startup innovation. Professional and other qualitiesAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Meticulous attention to detail. Proactive communication and creativity. Desirable previous professional experience gained through coursework, projects, or extracurriculars.
