Communications Specialist

A prestigious international law firm is seeking a Communications Specialist to join its growing Marketing & Communications team. The Communications Specialist will play a key role in supporting both internal and external communications initiatives across the firm. This role will be hybrid in Washington, D.C. Key Responsibilities:Partner with senior team members to plan and execute proactive communications strategies and campaigns.Lead external-facing writing initiatives, including press releases, media pitches, award submissions, and social media content.Support firm-wide publicity efforts and develop submissions for legal directories, rankings, and awards programs.Assist in managing internal communications projects, including drafting and posting content for the firm’s website, intranet, and social channels.Track media coverage and analyze campaign performance to report on results and identify new opportunities.Collaborate with partners, attorneys, and business leaders to support key firm initiatives and events.Serve as a resource for firm personnel and media inquiries, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and professionalism in all communications.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or a related field.5 years of experience in communications, public relations, or marketing - legal industry or PR agency experience required.Exceptional writing and editing skills with a strong grasp of AP style.Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Experience developing content for digital platforms (social media, websites, blogs) and measuring communications performance.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
