Are you inquisitive and innovative with outstanding interpersonal skills?If you love working with people, enjoy a challenge and pride yourself in facilitating community-led solutions efficiently and to a high standard, the Waimakariri District Council is looking for you!We are currently recruiting a Part Time Community Development Facilitator who can work effectively across a broad range of stakeholders in an evolving and growing community environment.This is a 10 month, fixed term, parental leave cover position. This role involves facilitating community-led activities that create a healthier, happier, safer Waimakariri District, with a particular focus on family violence and alcohol and drug harm and addiction. This is in line with the Waimakariri District Council Community Development Strategy 2025 -2035.To be successful in this position you will demonstrate significant experience in: Working to a community-led model Networking Community Engagement Facilitating groups, including organising and running meetings Project planning and evaluation Social and on-line media Working across a range of sectors, including business, social and community Working with people from a diverse range of cultural, socio-economic and values-based demographicsWe are looking for self-motivated people who can motivate others and encourage innovative thinking to generate solutions to community-identified issues and opportunities. Your ability to build rapport and influence will complement your excellent communication skills.You will need to be well organised and able to manage a workload of diverse portfolios to achieve timely outcomes. You will be able to work well as part of a team. It would be advantageous to have active involvement in a range of communities of interest.
